In Vauxhall class we did some science and how we see.We learnt about how we see and how our eyes adapt. The question is HOW DO WE SEE? so how we see is light goes in a straight line into our eyes and we see. Also we actually see things upside down and then our brain flips it up.you might this is not true but it is true.In Vauxhall We made shadow puppets and we were going to preform with the puppets but we never had time but hopefully we can. That is what we did in Vauxhall and I am looking forward to more science.Thats all we did in Vauxhall.

Today in year 6 we had to write a haiku’s [originally from Japan] about anything we could think of .

A haiku has to be three lines

The first line has to be 5 syllables

The second line has to be 7 syllables

And the last one has to be 5

To help you writhe haiku’s you probably should clap out your syllables so its easier

A haiku doesn’t have to rhyme how if you want to you can

Here are  examples of a haikus

Shadow Puppets!! By Martina

Today in year six we have been making our very own shadow puppets to do with Romeo and Juliet a film/story that was created by Mr.William Shakespear who sadly died on April 26th 1616. Today we were testing out the shadow puppets we had made in our groups.

The things you need to make a shadow puppet:

  • A puppet to make the shadow with
  • a light source and in this case a torch
  • a place to make the shadow on (a table, a wall, the ground and much more)
  • a ruler / something to measure the distance of the light from the puppet and how big the shadow of the puppet is
  • something to show your measurements

Our investigation was to find out how to make the shadow of the puppet bigger without moving the puppet.(only moving the light source/torch) In my group we discovered that when you put the torch closer to the puppet the shadow will become really big but when you put the light further away from the puppet the shadow will get smaller. When we were in class we thought that when you put the light closer to the puppet the shadow will get smaller because when we tried to make a shadow with our hand and put our hand closer to the table the shadow will get smaller and when we put our hand further away from the table the shadow got bigger but it was clearly the complete opposite.

On Friday 15th December 2017, Lark Hall will hopefully be having a Christmas Jumper day, for the charity: Save the Children! Wouldn’t it be great fun to show off your awesome looking Christmas jumpers, before school finishes for the holidays? If you don’t want to wear a Christmas jumper, then that’s absolutely fine, but still join in the fun!

For people that will be wearing Christmas jumpers, I am predicting that you will need to bring:

£1+ donation!

Christmas Jumper (Obviously/Optional)

That’s all for now, I am 100% sure you will need to bring those things in bold for Christmas Jumper day! Stay tuned!
